Why is this called “Microsoft Courier Tablet vs. Apple tablet showdown” when there are no examples of the iPad functionality? Just a lot of jabbering while the showing a “vision” of what Microsoft “might” put out. This is def. a MS commercial of some sort.

Check your facts. It doesn’t need to be fully implemented for it’s features to be used by browsers right now, as many of the components are all ready stable. Firefox does support the new features I mentioned. Also Apples crash statistics shows that the majority of time a crash occurs on a Mac is is caused by Adobes Flash. A result of their poor programming no doubt.
Microsoft Courier for me and zune for me to, i hate using macs at work and i hated my ipod classic that i had for over a 2years atm im back using a sony diskmen. this looks much nicer to me cause its a book, smaller and the screens will be more protected when its closed
no, HTML5 is nowhere near full implementation
@ grim760 Flash is going to die a pretty quick death soon this year. All these Flash commenst are a joke. The abilities that flash offers programmers will soon be built into the next web standards (I think FireFox already has it) & every developer will eventually move to that as it’s not proprietary.
The Courier is something I can actually use. I already have a miniature iPad, it’s called iTouch.

Courier IMO seems more useful for people that intend to do research of some kind – from high school homework to professional work (science, lawyers, design, etc), Much more functional than the IPAD IMO.

Well it’s not gonna take much to beat the ipad. If the pc tablet supports adobe flash then it kind of already won the race. Why would i pay 500 dollars for something that my ipod touch can do. The only differance is a bigger screen, and paint brushes. which i think there’s an app for. If the pc tablet can do half the things they are rumored to do, then they will surely make apple look stupid.
I am so excited for this… I just hope it doesn’t cost a bagillion dollars
actually, i do believe that Gates spoke of a tablet device back in ’99.
apple’s will take off in 2010 because it’s geared towards younger people and looks like more of a toy than anything else. no doubt it looks incredible and i’m sure it’s a fantastic device, but it’s just a blown up version of an ipod/iphone. nothing new here.
