This video will pretty much talk about the upcoming rumors which have been hovering around various tech blogs over the past 48 hours. You can also join me on Twitter: www.twitter.com Or my blog: www.iglaswegian.blogspot.com Catch my LIVE Streams www.ustream.tv
I’m hoping they’ll release something that’s a cross between the macbook and the iphone. It should have the tilt feature and be able to operate all of the applications for iphone/itouch. I will definitely purchase one as soon as possible!
i really hope there is at least, a version, that uses snow leopard, or a form of snow leopard
i would really like to see it run snow leopard, and have the same features as a macbook except for the physical keyboard.
Is the tablet just going to be a bigger version of the iphone.
@thehtgrts Maybe an Anti-Gravity system that will keep the “tablet” floating in the air while you can use it…?
<800 would be amazing. I guess it depends what its capable of. More functions = increased price
How much would this tablet cost do you think?
now i understand what steve jobs said when he said he wanted the itouch as a gaming device, reason why they didnt put a camera on it, they want the iphone as a smartphone, and they’ll for sure have the tablet left as a social/business device idk but i cant wait
I’m having a feeling the tablet will be just the macbook air where you’ll be able to sync to your desktop or laptop and gather all your info and you’ll also be able to sync with your BT mouse and keyboard, the only thing I’m most curious about this is how are they going to make this “tablet” stand on a flat surface? all these other tablets have gimmicky stands and I’m wondering what unique way will apple use for there tablet”? ‘member ppl apple does not make crappy products
i dont really see a point in a tablet as we have the iphone, and the macbook everything is there that we would need, unless the tablet replaces the note pad and pen it would not be as good as the iphone / macbook.
if its not a fully functional computer that will replace my current laptop i dont want another thing in my bags.
Interesting point you made – if its a product with a price tag worth a grand… is it REALLY going to be different from the iPhone (if the new tablet used the iPhone OS).
Great vid!!
What I want from the tablet… a more “business like” feel, than the iPhone. I also want it to be a different product than the iPhone, by this I mean something totally different. And not the same OS, because it’s probably going to be a £1000 item, and why should we pay that for something we can get for £350?? Saying that, I have faith in apple for this product
I think it will be something like a tablet with a slimmed down version of Snow Leopard but I can see it being something completely different to a Mac or a normal tablet PC because Apple always make things totally different but I can’t wait to see the design because that is the best thing about Apple products.
I can imagine they will probably have something like HD in it or a camera or some other interesting type of media.
i think whats key with the iphone os is POTENTIAL GROWTH, i will agree that the os is good now but man it lacks a lot of things that older os had. but i stay loyal because i can see the future work, the growth of the os being much better than competitors
Screenflow
Did you make this video using iMovie or Final Cut?
got a imac today!!! thx 4 review
Maybe I’ve had an iPhone for too long now; but I don’t really think the iPhone OS is capable for anything more than a (granted, pretty damn good) mobile phone. I personally think the iPhone OS requires a complete rewrite from the ground up; it was great at the start but it’s a bit laggy now. I don’t really want my Tablet to be like that. Probably my most important point is the ability to use keyboard and mouse. It’s beyond me why I can’t use my keyboard with my iPhone; that would be awesome.
Points 2 and 3 which you mentioned look very promising. Point 1 – as they’re asking app developers to produce apps for a larger screen, it could quite poss mean they’re sticking to the iPhone OS (which i dont have a prob with). Not sure if the last point is relevant, I think they’d be tapping too much into the Mac computer lines i.e. macbook, imac etc.
I’m hoping for a number of things from the ‘tablet’:
- An Mac OS X-like operating system. I don’t think it will be possible to make a decent attempt at having a direct copy (we’ve seen this fail with Windows tablets.
- It needs to be around about the size of an A4 page.
- Needs to have a mini-displayport adapter so it can be used with a second monitor.
- Must allow keyboard and mouse connections via bluetooth.
- Should be able to run any OS X software.
=)
Yup! In my heart, I really don’t want to have the same feeling we had when Apple said *drum roll* “and nooooww… TADAAAA !! We added a Camera to the iPod!!!” and everyone was “huh?! this is it??!!”
LOL… I hope it doesn’t happen again, with this Tablet
Again, good points made. I think real-estate is probably one of the major/key factor in justifying paying for one of these tablets. I personally dont see the point in creating a totally new OS (it might hog up their key Mac and iPhone OS business units). The iPhone OS already works a treat, they could simply tweak/alter it to better cater for the tablet.
just not feeling a tablet, if its revolutionary then i think i would buy one but if it’s an upscaled iphone/ipod touch then probably not. saw the rumors of the textual feedback from virtual keys, that looks cool. I may just purchase it to have an alternative to the kindle. i don’t like that the kindle you cannot use in the dark. if the tablet allowed me to do this then I would consider it. none the less can’t wait!!!!
I agree – they’ll have to include features which are UNIQUE (be it simple or simply a new way of doing something). But yes, I agree on the most with you. It will have to be something different in order for it to sell well and to appeal for people. I think that because Apple are leaders in iTunes and the App Store – this could add to their benefit.
