Question by ValLin 88: What programming language should I learn to develop native apps for Windows 8 and Windows 7.5 Mobile Phones?
I’m a Web Developer with experience developing websites and applications that run on Windows operating systems. I’m in the process of learning how to develop mobile websites and applications (on my own). I know that iPhone and Android are top of the market, but I do see promise in developing native apps for Windows Phone and Desktop using the upcoming “metro style”. I’ve read you can use Javascript and HTML 5 to develop metro style apps but I want to know if I should also learn how to develop these apps using XAML with C# or VB.NET? Which programming strategy will give easier access to native features and connections to databases?
