Google TV box has a search function, which includes what you get from your cable or satellite. It integrates with your cable or satellite to do so.

Where the Roku box connect to your input 2 and provides you with cool stuff when you switch to it, Google TV connects between your cable/satellite and your TV on input 1, so it gives you all that cool stuff with an overlayed interface and no need to switch inputs, it’s all just there.
