Im sure that this is what people want , instead of netbook and desktop . Assessing these tablet is easier than to on your laptop in the middle of your bus trip .

@ejgytv WHAT?? An Android Clone? It looks NOTHING like android, its designed after Windows Phone 7; which was also not designed after andoid, this is its own game. Android is an iOS clone and visa verca, WINDOWS tablets are the ONLY ones on THEIR OWN.

@jacoboam How is this in any way an iPad Poser??? It’s going in the complete opposite direction of the iPad. iPad has iOS; a MOBILE PHONE designed OS, this is WINDOWS, a full blown PC OS, these are OPPOSITES. Android Tablets are the iPad Posers.

This is the future of computers! Pretty cool stuff. I think Apple really missed the mark on the ipad, which was basically just a giant ipod touch. A full powered computer in a tablet though… pretty awesome

I did boycott windows vista and 7 by going to mac but I have to say I think they are starting to fix the major leaks that those OS’ had and may redefine the basics of the gui of an OS, pretty exiting stuff!!

It’s really good, I’m using it now, but it seems like it’s more for netbooks and tablet PC’s instead of bigger netbooks or desktops, unless you use them as media servers..

@tlehmann1996 Just learn to use it and, quick being lazy it. If you don’t like it don’t buy it.

  17. tlehmann1996 23. Jan, 2012 at 11:16 pm #

@XxRAINISM When you click the start button you are now thrown into the Metro interface. That is not what I want to see on my laptop or desktop when I hit the start button. Microsoft’s excuse is that programs can now be easily pinned to the taskbar, but there is no easy way to search for files without opening the Metro interface and clicking the search button.

@tlehmann1996 huh? It still has the W7 build + start menu. It’s just not it’s primary function.

Go microsoft go !!! Displaying two apps at the same time is cool, now if hardware companies can make a solid tablet design for it that doesn’t feel like cheap plastic and doesnt overheat I would buy it, if Microsoft can get a solid tablet out it can compete with apple. Android is good but their OS is not polished, and updating is a pain.I hope this year we see some great tablets so we have more to choose from not some tablets that good on paper but have all sort of software n hardware issues.

I personally think that Microsoft may have shot themselves in the foot here. They essentially just killed off desktops and laptops with a single OS upgrade. There is no easy way to navigate the new Start menu with a mouse. We don’t need this full-screen start menu! Apple has it down almost perfectly. Desktops and tablets need different operating systems. My only gripe is how limited the iPad is.

Also, does anybody else hate the black box that is the new Start button?

    @asianoutcast87
it wasn’t inconvinent though partially useless as most of application as of now work on windows 7 enviorment which you can go by clicking the desktop tab on home screen but i hope they able to find a way to chaneelise rest of applications programs to run on windows 8 so it can become indespensible.

This definetly is the Netbook, notebook and ultrabook killer! If you have a cordless keyboard/mouse you don’t need a notebook.

  31. skilo1983 24. Jan, 2012 at 6:32 am #

Well windows 8 is definetly an android killer for sure.

  32. kylerichouxj 24. Jan, 2012 at 7:11 am #

I have it on my Dell XPS desktop

  33. TemperatureIndicator 24. Jan, 2012 at 8:00 am #

@HopelessWizzard I think it’ll be thicker than an ipad 2, it would have to be atleast the thickness of a usb and hdmi port. I think if it is too thin then we would be getting rid of some of the selling points of it. Have you compared the specs of a normal laptop with an ultrabook? If I had the money, I’d just buy a normal laptop, or just buy parts for a pc and make one which would be amazing but cheaper than an ultrabook.

This is a real tablet. This is what tablets should have been like. This will kill the iPad hype. Thank you Microsoft. I do like Apple still though.
