Would a unlocked Google Nexus One work on a tmobile prepaid sim card?

THE nexus is made to be sold by T-mobile, However, all phones have an IMEI ID number. If you don’t purchase a data plan from that particular carrier, you will not be able to transfer data on their phone signal and can’t use the 3G network. The phone will send and receive calls but data must go thru wifi.
